Tagging their work as electronic "buddy" music, Takuji Sekine and Yosuke Momono say their group, Hocori, is a way for two instrumentalists to indulge in artificial beats.
Sekine, a member of the group Golf, and Momono, lead vocalist and guitarist in rock band Monobright, were busy swapping sounds via computer before forming Hocori last year.
"Playing dance music is a strange feeling for me," says Momono with a laugh. He has a reputation in Tokyo's rock scene for energetic, guitar-heavy live performances. "But I was always interested in programming music and just needed someone to help me out with it. Then I met Sekine."
