Based on a true story, "Dokutsu Ojisan" ("Cave Man"; BS Premium, Mon., 9 p.m.) dramatizes the life of Kazuma Kamura, who ran away from home when he was 13 to escape abusive parents and lived alone in a cave on a remote mountain for 43 years.
Kamura as a young man is played by So Nakamura. His only companion a dog, he has to teach himself how to hunt wild game, including rabbits and snakes, though the most difficult animal to catch is wild boar. He also collects wild fruit and eventually he reveals himself publicly when he starts selling wild vegetables. He also falls in love with a woman he rescues in the mountains.
Kamura in later life is played by Lily Franky. He was 57 when he was finally "discovered."
