Often cited as influencing acts such as Ministry and Nine Inch Nails, as well as post-metal bands from the 2000s like Isis and Pelican, industrial metal band Godflesh are coming to Japan for a three-city tour from this Friday.
The shows are being staged by the band's Japanese record label, Daymare Recordings, who released the domestic pressing of Godflesh's 2014 comeback album, "A World Lit Only By Fire." The band, who disbanded in 2002 after more than a decade of activity, reformed in 2010.
The pairing of the label and the English duo is a good one. Daymare is responsible for the domestic releases of heavy bands such as Sunn O))), Deafheaven and Godflesh singer-guitarist Justin Broadrick's other project, Jesu.
