In a new drama, Shinichi Tsutsumi plays Satoshi Saigyoji, aka "Risuku no Kami-sama" ("The God of Risk"; Fuji TV, Wed., 10 p.m.), a legendary crisis management expert who learned his trade in the United States, where he was often hired by large corporations and government agencies. Now, Saigyoji has returned to his native Japan to take a post in the country's biggest trading company, Sunrise Busan.
In the premiere episode, Sunrise has developed a next-generation battery using a new material invented by a partner corporation. The two firms form a joint venture company and put Kaori (Erika Toda), a University of Tokyo graduate who grew up overseas, in charge of the company's merchandising division. Right away, however, she is faced with a serious problem when a robot vacuum cleaner with the new battery installed catches fire in a private home and burns a child. Saigyoji to the rescue.
Momoko (Misako Renbutsu), lead of another new drama series, "Sanjunana-ten-go C no Namida" ("37.5 Degrees Centigrade Tears"; TBS, Thurs., 9 p.m.), has just started working for an out-patient caregiving service that specializes in children who are shut-ins due to illness. After completing her training, Momoko is given her first assignment.
