Queen of all Japanese media, Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, will celebrate the 10,000th installment of her long-running daily talk show, "Tetsuko no Heya" ("Tetsuko's Room"; TV Asahi, Wed., 12 noon), with two very special guests, Masahiko Kondo and Noriyuki Higashiyama, considered, respectively, the No. 1 and No. 2 "sons" of talent agency Johnny's and Associates.
Kondo first appeared on Kuroyanagi's show in 1982 at the age of 17 and has subsequently revisited 14 times. He is, in fact, one of the 81-year-old entertainer's best friends in his private life. Higashiyama, who is 48, has appeared on the show nine times since 1986. The three will reminisce while watching videos of the two former idols' past appearances and "reveal a few secrets."
Masashi Sada is one of Japan's most-loved singer-songwriters, and his unusual path to success is chronicled in the drama "Champon Tabetaka" ("I Want to Eat Champon" in Nagasaki dialect; NHK-G, May 30, 10 p.m.).
