This column was created to highlight some of the films that bypass the cinemas and go straight to DVD. Great in theory, but the reality is more like "Dark Hearts." This cheesy and pretentious erotic thriller, about an artist (Kyle Schmid) who creates his work with human blood, has little to recommend it other than the name draw of Sonja Kinski, a beauty who's a dead ringer for her mom, Nastassja. "Cat People" seems like utter genius in comparison.
