Based on the legendary 1970s rivalry between Formula One drivers Niki Lauda and James Hunt, this is a hell of a ride, in a glitzy, glamorous vehicle. Chris Hemsworth has the role of English playboy Hunt and Daniel Bruhl is the pensive Austrian Lauda, but Ron Howard's film shows how the two personalities were often facades, which hid their fiercely competitive streaks. At their core they were mad, racing dogs. Scintillating stuff.
