Everyone deserves a second chance, especially murdered cops. Roy (Jeff Bridges) and Nick (Ryan Reynolds) return to the land of the living to join the R.I.P.D. (Rest in Peace Department) and track down the culprits who killed them. The premise is fun, but the story loses momentum once it stops being a cops-and-suspects vehicle and morphs into an apocalyptic spectacle, complete with a preachy Kevin Bacon.
