Be careful not to lose yourself, or your kids, in this maze of game booths.
The Next Generation World Hobby Fair is an opportunity to see what kind of games are currently available, while also trying out some brand-new ones. Various companies, including video- and board-game makers, are being represented, each showcasing numerous products at their booths.
Visitors can buy games that have not been marketed in stores yet — and also find some special ones sold exclusively at the event — along with limited-edition goods and accessories. For serious fans, some manga artists involved in the games industry will be offering autographs, so check the online schedule for their signing hours.
When you tire from walking around or chasing after your kids, there's a resting space with food and drinks. Even if you end up buying nothing, you can still pick up some free souvenirs, which you'll be given not only when you enter the event but also when you leave. So don't forget to tell your kids to bring their backpacks, which they could find themselves stuffing with all kinds of goodies.
The Next Generation World Hobby Fair takes place at Kyocera Dome in Osaka on Feb. 9 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Entrance is free. For more information, visit www.whobby.com/info/osaka.php
