Director: Abel Ferrara
Language: English
If I were to say, "Forgotten 1998 indie film starring Christopher Walken, Willem Dafoe, Asia Argento and Ryuichi Sakamoto," your eyes would light up. If I were to add, "Directed by Abel Ferrara," the hope would drain. NYC director Ferrara's films are often a bit of a ramble, and "New Rose Hotel" — based on a William Gibson short story about cyberpunk corporate intrigue and hooker honey-traps — is no exception. Worth a look for Walken die-hards, but the final reel infuriates nearly everyone.
