Learn from the experts how to properly exercise by joining two former Olympic athletes at the Jogging Matsuri 2013 on Nov. 30 in Yokohama's Minato Mirai Sports Park.
This event features talk sessions and workshops by marathoner Akio Usami, who competed in the Montreal, Munich and Mexico City Olympic Games, and by Shunji Karube, who ran in the 1,600-meter relay in Atlanta and Sydney.
Participants without running experience can join the First Run Clinic program, which offers advice on basic form and running skills. For the more ambitious, there's a workshop on how to prepare yourself for a marathon, while lectures for 10-km and half marathon runners will also be available.
Female runners concerned about their appearance can also learn special makeup techniques that won't "run" while running. You can join the event by yourself or with friends, but everyone will be put into groups for actual running sessions around the park.
Jogging Matsuri 2013 takes place on Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Yokohama Minato Mirai Sports Park. Prior reservation is not necessary but recommended. The event is free of charge. For more information contact the organizers at 045-222-8189.
