Alphonse Mucha, born in Moravia (now a part of the present-day Czech Republic) is best known for his theatrical decoration, oil paintings, posters and stamps. He began his career in Paris as an illustrator, where his poster design for the 1894 play "Gismonda," starring Sarah Bernhardt, garnered him critical acclaim and popularity.

He continued to focus on interior decoration until he returned to Moravia in 1910 to design stamps and bank notes for the newly formed Czechoslovakia.

This exhibition showcases 160 works, spanning various media, including oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, color lithograph posters, ornamental panels and illustrations; Oct. 19-Dec. 1.
