This big-screen adaptation of the Broadway musical based on Victor Hugo's 1862 novel of revolution, injustice and destiny certainly arrived at the right time: Just note the Turkish protestors in Taksim Square bellowing out "Do You Hear The People Sing?" Fans of the musical will find this star-studded adaptation fulfilling, with epic sets and a cast who perform their own vocals live, but casual musical fans should note that every single line of dialogue is sung, which can be off-putting.
