Ahead of the Feb. 22 Japan release of "Silver Linings Playbook," the acclaimed new film from director David O. Russell and starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro, a special preview screening will be held in Tokyo. The Japan Times has 10 pairs of tickets to give away free to readers for the screening, which takes place on Feb. 19 at 6 p.m.
The romantic comedy-drama centers on Pat (played by "The Hangover" star Cooper), an ex-teacher who is released after eight months in a mental institution and is struggling to regain his former life and a grip on his temper. Moving back in with his parents (De Niro and Jacki Weaver), who have their own problems, he hopes to rebuild bridges with the wife who had him sent away after a violent episode.
But when he meets Tiffany (Lawrence, star of "The Hunger Games"), a young widow who has her own all-consuming neuroses, things take a turn — and Pat discovers a new sense of optimism and a friendship that could be his salvation.
