Attitudes toward RVs are changing as the once luxury items become more affordable according to the Japan Recreational Vehicle Association.

The Nagoya Camping Car Fare hopes to appeal to new buyers, but the two-day event may also be fun for families that enjoy the outdoors. Professionals chefs will give visitors demonstrations on how to use Dutch ovens and let spectators sample the dishes. Also, programs that include climbing, and classes on how to make soba noodles and Japanese woodcrafts, will be presented.

Nagoya Camping Car Fare takes place at Port Messe in Nagoya on Oct. 27 and 28. Tickets cost ¥1,000. For more information, call (052) 243-8600, or visit www.tv-aichi.co.jp/camping .
