Tokyo is the next city to receive the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art's impressive traveling exhibition of masterpieces.

Reviewing 4,000 years of history from the perspective of nature, the artworks chosen for this show depict the beauty of nature through a variety of mediums. Comprising 54 paintings, 66 artifacts (including sculptures) and 13 photographs, the show includes major works, such as Vincent van Gogh's "Cypresses," a revered masterpiece that is being shown in Japan for the first time.

This is the first time in 40 years such a comprehensive showing of MET artworks is being held in Japan; till Jan. 4.
