Billed as the world's first 3-D erotic film, "3D Sex & Zen" certainly features in-your-face 3-D — watch out for the flying horse penis — but it's too silly to be considered even remotely erotic, despite plenty of disrobed Asian beauties.
The latest film in the long-running "Sex & Zen" series film is once again based on "The Carnal Prayer Mat," a 17th-century Chinese novel of bedroom philosophy, but it suffers from schizophrenic mood swings: The first half is all bawdy Hong Kong slapstick, the second closer to torture-porn territory, with one character even getting raped to death. Not the best date movie.
