Every museum-goer must have, at least once, experienced difficulty in understanding some of the complicated expository texts accompanying old art works.
Mitsui Memorial Museum is offering visitors a unique opportunity to learn about difficult terminology by presenting it alongside detailed examinations of related exhibits. On display to help explain terms are a variety of Japanese works — including paintings, calligraphy, ceramics, lacquerware and textiles — all showcased in Japanese alphabetical order to make visitors feel as if they are exploring an encyclopedia; till Aug. 26.
