Eiji Mitooka is one of Japan's leading train designers, and he is particularly well known as the designer for the Kyushu Railway Company. His work has been highly acclaimed and won him many awards in the industry, not to mention fans.
The Art Tower Mito (ATM) Contemporary Gallery is exhibiting a comprehensive collection of Mitooka's work from the past 25 years alongside other train ephemera. Structured to intrigue children into the world of industrial design and encourage visitors to explore design and concept, the show includes idea sketches for rolling stock, posters, model vehicles and more; July 7-Sep. 30.
