"Inaudible Sound" was originally a one-day event that was scheduled for March 19, 2011, but was canceled after the Great East Japan Earthquake.
This year, the three originally commissioned artists — Hiroharu Mori, Toshiya Tsunoda and Shigeru Matsui — have been reunited to show works created in response to the national disaster. Their pieces are not claimed to represent 3.11 but are reinterpretations of the "pure silence" generated by the discontinuity that followed it. Curated by visual artist Shizune Shiigi, works include a variety of visual media; till July 21.
