After a triumphant appearance at this year's Summer Sonic music festival, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are coming back to Japan via cinemas.
The "Red Hot Chili Peppers Live: I'm With You" concert film will be screened at cinemas nationwide for two weeks starting Sept. 23. The movie features a show the group performed in Cologne, Germany, on Aug. 30. That concert was broadcast live into theaters across Europe and later that day was screened in multiplexes across North America. The film also features exclusive interview footage, and the delay in getting the movie to Japan was due to the time it took for subtitling.
The Cologne performance focused almost entirely on new material, so fans of the band's early work may be a little disappointed with the film. The Chili Peppers did, however, play 1991's "Give It Away" from the album "Blood Sugar Sex Magik."
