"Mr. T's Collection" comprises around 300 art works that were acquired by an unnamed Kinki region-based art collector over a half-century. It includes modern and contemporary paintings, prints, sculptures and ceramics.
The impressive collection, which is being shown to the public for the first time, is split into separate exhibitions at four museums in Hyogo Prefecture — Asago Art Village, Art Hall Kobe, Hyogo Prefectural Maruyama-river Garden Museum and BB Plaza Museum of Art.
At the BB Plaza Museum of Art, around 70 works are being exhibited, including nihonga (Japanese-style painting) by Heihachiro Fukuda and Togyu Okumura; yōga (Western-style painting) by Yoshitomo Nara and Takashi Murakami; sculptures by Henry Moore; and ceramics by Lucie Rie; till Aug. 21.
