Tokyo-based DJ Satoshi Otsuki has been making waves in Japan's house and techno scene. He spun at the recent Big Beach Festival, and has played the main floor of almost every big club in the country. The Japan Times takes a look in his record bag.
Golden Oldie: Kenny Dixon Jr. — Track 2 Track (Three Chairs). I just can't get away from it; I feel like this tune represents my roots as a DJ.
New Classic: Bodymovin — Good Time [Martinez Remix] (We Love This). A brilliant track that has the power to create a great time.
Floor Filler: D-Sound — Our World [Edit] (Foot & Mouth). This tune is huge outdoors. The Hall and Oates sample helps get people dancing.
Must-Listen: Manuel Tur feat. Holly Backler — Most of this Moment [Isolee Remix] (Freerange). A stunning remix by Isolee. I love compositions that create a world where orthodox sounds combine with more acidic elements.
Satoshi Otsuki plays Warehouse 702 in Tokyo on June 18 with Jimpster. For details, visit www.warehouse702.com. Check out his mixes at www.soundcloud.com/satoshiotsuki
