A group exhibition by Natsuyuki Nakanishi, Kohei Nawa, Jeppen Hein, Kounosuke Kawakami, Brian Alfred and Atsushi Saga, this show has brought together an eclectic group of artists with a diverse range of styles.
Though the venue of the exhibition is limited in space, "Beyond" manages to fit in representative works from each of the six artists and offers contrasting pieces of different mediums and genres. Included are Nakanishi's avant-garde paintings from the 1960s and '80s, a drawing series by Nawa (whose solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, opens on June 11), and installations by Hein (who also currently has a solo exhibition in Kanazawa).
SCAI The Bathhouse describes the group show as a new way of experiencing an exhibition space. It's also a good opportunity to see works of well-known artists free of charge; till July 2.
