Copperplate print artist Shoichi Futami's work is known not only in Japan but also in Germany and other parts of Europe. This exhibition presents approximately 100 of his works from the 250 housed in the Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura's collection.
Surveying 40 years of Futami's achievements in printing, the show presents pieces from his early to more recent years. Included are some of Futami's blue-based aquatint works, whose romantic fantasy aesthetic has made them popular with copperplate print fans; June 18 to Oct. 10.
