With halloween now a thing of the past, it's time to start thinking about Christmas, and Cirque du Soleil is way ahead of you.
The famed Canadian circus troupe will be getting into the spirit of the season this month by wreathing the Cirque du Soleil Theatre at Tokyo Disney Resort with lights in the festive colors of red and green as part of this years' holiday celebrations.
The theater's design incorporates a number of polyhedrons combining to form the image of a circus tent. The building opened to the public in 2008 exclusively for the use of the Japan-based team.
The Zed performance is an original made-in-Japan Cirque du Soleil production inspired by the Arcana, a fictional world incorporating magical characters such as goddesses and sphinxes.
On top of the usual program, visitors will be able to have their picture taken by a professional photographer with props used by Zed performers. Also, for a limited time, the theater will sell Christmas-inspired eclairs.
ZED continues at Cirque du Soleil Theatre Tokyo. Tickets cost ¥8,500-¥13,500. For more information, call (0570) 00-9444 or visit www.zed.co.jp
