Heralded by many as the antidote to much of the "landfill indie" which has stifled the city, Delphic have been seen as the leaders in a new wave of artistically credible but commercially viable acts.
Even before their debut album "Acolyte" hit the Top 10 in the U.K. in late January, Delphic were at the top of many critics' "next big thing" lists, coming in third on the BBC's Sound of 2010 poll, a result guitarist Matt Cocksedge called "a double-edged sword, because even though we enjoyed the exposure, negativity can quickly follow if we don't do as well as people expect."
