Japan's famous true story of a loyal Akita dog goes Hollywood. Richard Gere, who said he cried when he read the script, plays a college professor who adopts an abandoned Akita puppy named Hachi. The two develop a strong bond and Hachi goes to meet his master at the train station every evening, sometimes under harsh weather conditions, and even after his master disappears. "Hachiko" is solely about the unshakable faithfulness of the dog, and Hachi, played by three Akita dogs, is undeniably adorable.
