Disney's fairy-tale princess is banished from the 2-D animation world to modern-day New York by a wicked witch. Prince Edward (James Marsden) pursues her there, but before he finds her, the princess (Amy Adams) is given shelter by a handsome single father (Patrick Dempsey). It's cliched and a girly flick, yet Disney laughing at its own sanitized fantasy world and Adams' show-stealing performance as a wide-eyed innocent make this a surprisingly pleasurable watch.
