A family film about Angus (Alex Etel), a lonely Scottish boy, and his pet, who happens to be . . . the Loch Ness Monster. Set during World War II, Angus finds a large egg on the loch's shore and takes it home, where it hatches and a grayish dinosaurlike creature emerges. Angus and the animal develop a friendship, but his pet gets bigger . . . and bigger. It's "E.T." set in Scotland, and, er, shot in New Zealand, and a predictable storyline is compensated for by some thrilling children-wowing scenes and stunning scenery.
