This documentary chronicles five Romani bands from four countries — Spain, Romania, Macedonia and India — touring North America for six weeks in 2001. The passionate performances of Antonio El Pipa's flamenco ensemble, Indian folk troupe Maharaja, Romanian brass band Fanfare Ciocarlia and Macedonian diva Esma Redzepova fascinate the audiences. The artists are captured on and off stage and back in their home countries each talks about their families, culture and history of persecution.
