A French adaptation of D.H. Lawrence's controversial novel about a love affair between a young aristocrat woman and a working-class man. After Mr. Chatterley (Hippolyte Girardot) is paralyzed, sexually frustrated Mrs. Chatterley (Marina Hands) meets the gamekeeper Parkin (Jean-Louis Coullo'ch) in the woods. In Parkin's hut, the two begin to share sexual pleasures that includes the famous scene where the couple decorate their genitals with wild flowers. The protagonists' psychology is subtly depicted with pastoral landscapes in the background.
