For those looking to entertain excited kids this Halloween, Roppongi Hills hosts its annual seasonal bonanza on Oct. 27-31.
The Halloween Parade kicks off at the Roppongi Hills Arena on Oct. 27, 11 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Go dressed up as a pumpkin, witch, ghost, skeleton or pirate, and receive a souvenir badge and sweets. Parades lasting 25 minutes are held in succession during the afternoon. If you are stuck for what to wear, there is also a costume-making class on the morning of the parade (10 a.m., ¥300).
Over the weekend of Oct. 27-28, there are also Halloween Performances at various venues around Roppongi Hills, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. You can watch witch and ghost performances, or be surprised by Peppi the Clown's deft balloon art, juggling and magic, and receive Halloween balloons.
If the kids are getting tired, take them up to the 52nd floor of Mori Tower, where the Tokyo City View offers 360-degree panoramas from 250 meters above sea level. During Oct. 27-31, 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. (last admission midnight), the staff will greet you in costume, and if you also turn up in Halloween style, you get special discount entry. There is a chance to win sweets, and Sunset Cafe located in the Tokyo City View has concocted a Hot Halloween drink in addition to the usual smoothies.
