Looking for a platform to showcase your film genius? The Curse of Sunscreen, an annual independent short-film contest, is inviting all filmmakers, from first-timers to veterans, to submit five-minute shorts. Selected works will be screened Oct. 29 at A-bridge in Sangenjaya, Tokyo.
This year, the contest has a theme: Contest organizers Greg McMaster and Matt Innes are calling for shorts that are "creepy, eerie or just plain kimochi warui (disgusting)."
The best 10 films will be screened, with prizes and trophies awarded to the best three.
The deadline for submission is Oct. 15. Films should be submitted on Mini DV, DVD or CD-ROM format. For more information on how to apply, and to watch three of last year's winners, visit www.sunscreen.jp
