Born and raised in California to an Okinawan father and French-Moroccan mother, Cyril has been honing his highly-visual style of magic ever since a family friend took him to see a magic show in Las Vegas, aged 6. Cyril presents his latest show, a fusion of dance and magic to choreographed routines, titled "Magic Revolution: The Xperience," at Tokyo International Forum from Sept. 5-10.
Cyril's big break came in 2001 when he and his partner, choreographer and dancer Jane, won an award at the Siegfried and Roy's World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas. Since then Cyril has performed his close-up magic, parlor magic and grand illusion around the world, including as a member of Magic X Live, a group of young U.S.-based magicians. Cyril has also broadcast three two-hour specials for TV Tokyo.
"Magic Revolution: The Xperience" runs Sept. 5-10 at Tokyo International Forum Hall C in Yurakucho, Tokyo. Performances are at 7 p.m. on Sept 5, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sept. 6, 8 and 9 and 1 p.m and 6 p.m. on Sept. 10. Tickets are 6,300 yen and 8,400 yen. For further information, call (03) 5500-0359.
