Donald Margulies' 2000 Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Dinner With Friends" now arrives in Tokyo, presented by long-running expat theater troupe Tokyo International Players from March 31 to April 2.
A comic relationship drama that includes adult material, "Dinner With Friends" follows the lives of two couples, newly married Gabe and Karen, and Tom and Beth whose marriage is on the verge of breakdown. When Beth announces to Gabe and Karen that Tom has left her, it forces Gabe and Karen to question their own relationship.
This intimate production is directed by TIP Vice President Rachel Walzer, who is also a longtime member and performer at Tokyo Comedy Club.
"Dinner With Friends" runs March 31 (7:30 p.m.), April 1 (2 p.m., 7 p.m.) and April 2 (2 p.m.) at The Tokyo American Club, 2-1-2 Azabudai, Minato-ku, Tokyo. The venue is a short walk from Kamiyacho Station on the Hibiya subway line.
