A traditional Irish band, a belly-dancing troupe and a Tokyo Comedy Store stand-up comic whose routine assesses United States-Japan relations will all attempt to get in the Thanksgiving mood to raise money for the Second Harvest Japan (2HJ) benefit, "Food for All Japan." The fundraiser takes place 6 p.m.-11 p.m., Nov. 23 at Club Pure in Shibuya, Tokyo.
2HJ distributes food in this country to women's shelters, low-income and single-parent families, orphanages, migrant workers and the homeless. Last year, 2HJ delivered over 100 tons of food, the equivalent of 300,000 meals.
Tickets for "Food For All Japan" at Club Pure, 3F Chitose Bldg, 32-7 Udagawa-cho, Shibuya Ward, are 3,500 yen for men and 3,000 yen for women (all-you-can-drink). For further info, see www.secondharvestjapan.org
