An explosion of creativity is set to go off in Tokyo on Nov. 13 and 14, as 5,500 artists, many visiting from abroad, converge on Japan's largest art festival -- Design Festa Vol. 20.
The event, which will take up 20,000 sq. meters in Tokyo Big Sight, boasts 1,700 booths, showing everything from paintings, photography, multimedia and character design to fashion, installations and performances.
While most exhibiting artists are Japanese, 30 countries are expected to be represented at this year's Design Festa.
On the outdoor stage, more than 20 bands will perform a wide variety of music styles, from rock and punk to funk, blues and reggae. On the indoor stage, expect to see shows of fashion, performing arts and music. In the projection room, animation and short films will be screened.
The food area will feature 16 restaurants serving various cuisines.
