The 23rd Yokohama Honmoku Jazz Festival will be held Aug. 31 at Honmoku Shimin Park in Yokohama.
The lineup for the festival is: Luis Valle & Afro-Qbamigos!, featuring vocalist Nathan Ingram; the Shibusa Shirazu Orchestra; nine-piece soul group Real Blood; and the Naoko Terai Quintet.
Tickets are 3,500 yen in advance or 4,500 yen at the venue and available from Ticket Pia at (03) 5237-9966 (P code 151-288) or through an operator at 0570-02-9999, or Lawson Ticket at (03) 3569-9900 (L code 35026). Admission is free for children 12 and under.
The venue will open at 12:45 p.m. and the show will start at 1:30 p.m., rain or shine. Visitors are requested to bring their own mats. No pets are allowed.
The park is 10 minutes by bus No. 54 from Negishi Station on the JR Keihin Tohoku Line.
The executive committee of the Yokohama Honmoku Jazz Festival is being chaired by Anna Ogino, an Akutagawa Prize-winning writer who lives in Yokohama.
