A little girl, neglected by her busy parents, one day meets a headless man in a suit, holding an umbrella in one hand and a hat in the other. This ghostlike stranger gives her the hat and when she puts it on, her familiar world disappears and she finds herself in "Quidam" -- a wonderland where nothing quite makes sense.
On her journey through this strange land, the little girl has many more strange encounters and the people she meets demonstrate astonishing acrobatics which leave her -- and the audience -- in awe. What we're talking about here is Cirque du Soleil, one of the best circus troupes in the world, displaying skills that leave you questioning the theory of gravity.
One act that you don't want to miss is what is called the banquine. This sees 15 people form human pyramids -- at one point, there are four people standing on top of one another, with the topmost person balancing upside down on her hands.
