"Pimpant!" contains 43 songs, a signal that the music within could be a little weird. Also, the name of the group, Klimperei, is German for "able to play the piano just a little bit." Add to that the admission "we are not very good musicians" from one of the band's two members, and you might become a bit suspicious about just what's going on.
But Klimperei's weirdness makes us happy to be alive, reminding us what it's like to be a kid again Ebanging on every pot in the kitchen or plucking any string we can get our hands on.
"Pimpant!," the latest release of the French husband-and-wife duo of Francoise and Christophe Petchanatz, conjures a world where humans walk on their hands, fish stroll about on dry land and, according to the album cover, mice dominate cats.
