Goldsmith's College is generally associated with the wave of Young British Artists (or YBA, as they are famously known) that rocked the contemporary art scene during the 1990s.
Current blue-chip artists, such as Damien Hirst, Gillian Wearing and Sam Taylor-Wood, all came out of the University of London's open-curriculum art campus, where it would appear that an emphasis is placed on finding a straightforward yet provocative follow-through for uncluttered thoughts and ideas.
One of the few Asian-based Goldsmith's graduates we've had the opportunity to see here in Japan is Jung Yeondoo, a 33-year-old Korean artist who is now showing a new series of 10 color photographs at Gallery Koyanagi on Tokyo's Ginza strip.
