Helicoid 0222MB is a robot created and operated by three chicks from Osaka. Their ultimate goal is not to make this fantasy robot rid Japan of evil bands like Snail Ramp and Bump of Chicken, but simply to make it dance. Ho-hum.
To achieve this, the girls armed themselves with guitar, bass, drums and lots of effects pedals to create "heavy, spacey, futuristic, groovy sounds from Mars," and the robot . . . dances. Well, that's what the blurb the record company sent me says, anyway. I'm yawning too, but stay with me a minute.
Guitarist/vocalist Roco describes herself as "humanoid," bassist Suguri is a "cyborg" and drummer Kon is a "biker." A biker? Since when have bikes been a method of space transport?
