A retrospective of works by the French Symbolist painter Odilon Redon (1840-1916) starts today at Shinjuku's Odakyu department store.
Redon focused solely on black-and-white sketches and prints for much of his career, but in his 50s suddenly started creating fantastical works in bright colors, featuring religious and mythological figures.
About 70 works are on show at the exhibition.
