From May 2 to 6, Omotesando-dori will become an exhibition site of Sogetsu-style flower arrangements by 350 artists.

Organized by Akane Teshigawara, whose father, Hiroshi Teshigawara, is headmaster of the Sogetsu school of ikebana, this is the second exhibition of ikebana at stops all along the boulevard between the Aoyama-dori and Meiji-dori crossings.

Last year's works included a planter covered in cycad leaves, a wooden bench covered in vines, and a giant ring of soil and twigs erected under a pedestrian bridge. Expect similar displays this year.
