Ever felt left behind when discussion turns to Shakespeare? Here's your chance to catch up.
Tokyo International Players' next production, "Shakespeare for Dummies," is a light-hearted review of the English playwright's repertory of works.
Including sketches, skits, parodies, songs, poems and "bad dancing," the production is aimed at both the literary and nonliterary set, with the script borrowing its language from a range of sources, including Monty Python, Noel Coward, Dudley Moore and even the Bard himself.
"Shakespeare for Dummies" is being performed at the Tokyo American Club on Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are 4,000 yen for adults and 2,500 yen for students; a book of five tickets that may be used for the remainder of the season costs 15,000 yen.
