All-girl trio Thug Murder have been making pals quicker than most in the underground with their upbeat brand of melodic punk rock. So it was no surprise that they were able to pull together one of the best lineups I've seen for ages for the release party of debut album "13th Round" last week at Shimokitazawa's Shelter. The venue was more packed than I'd ever seen it.
I got there late so I missed the spitting guitar assault of Fishermans, and by the time I'd fought my way inside the Blue Beat Players were easing the crowd into the party spirit with their eclectic and amazingly fun ska-lounge.
Then the mosh pit got a good working over from Electric Summer, who never fail to deliver a blistering set of tight 'n' fast shouty punk rock. But the real madness had yet to begin.
