The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under Seiji Ozawa returned to Tokyo recently for its annual week in Japan, presenting seven concerts over nine days. This was the ninth time this decade the famed orchestra has appeared in the elegant concert facility at Ark Hills.
It is also its second visit with Ozawa, recognizing and saluting the historic appointment of Japan's most illustrious conductor as music director designate of the Vienna State Opera.
