Osaka Philharmonie Kokyo Gakudan
July 21, Takashi Asahina conducting in Suntory Hall -- Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Op. 36; Symphony No. 3 in C Minor, Op.67 "Eroica" (Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827)
If you are truly alive, I guess life just seems to get better and better with each advancing decade. The ageless Takashi Asahina may well share this philosophy; it is obviously true for him. At 92, Asahina is more in demand than ever. He appears in the nation's capital with Japan's most eminent orchestras, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the New Japan Philharmonic and the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, as well as at the head of the orchestra he founded more than half a century ago, the Osaka Philharmonic.
