The main excuses I've heard for not attending one of this summer's two international rock festivals in Japan are: "None of my favorite bands are coming" and "there's hardly any big names."
If you think this then you are: 1. Completely missing the point of what a music festival is all about and 2. Haven't been listening to much good new music lately.
Festivals are not so much about watching a couple of particular bands you adore. Why? Because festivals are all about mad fun -- when most of the time you don't even know what band is playing, let alone care.
